The University of Virginia's College at Wise Athletics

Jim Kelly will enter his fifth season directing the men's golf program at UVa-Wise in 2013.  A year ago, Kelly's team won the Shawnee State Invitational and continued to show improvement throughout the season.

Under Kelly's tenure, the Cavaliers also claimed the Lonesome Pine Invitational crown to finish the 2010 fall campaign and the program hosted the Mid-South Spring Invitational at Cattails Golf Course in Kingsport, Tenn. for the first time in school history.

Prior to coming to UVa-Wise, Kelly coached golf, baseball and football during his 17 years working for nearby Powell Valley High School. He also instructed driver's education and physical education while at Powell Valley. The coach also spent time teaching at Coeburn High and Rye Cove High Schools for seven and nine years apiece.

The UVa-Wise golf director is a graduate of Powell Valley High School. He holds a bachelor's degree from East Tennessee State University and a master's degree from Union College. Coach Kelly and his wife Jamie live in nearby Big Stone Gap.
