Bio
Zach Owens will suit up in a Cavalier uniform for the fourth season of his collegiate career. He's played in a reserve role in the three previous years for UVA Wise, totaling 9 points in 12 games played for the Cavs. 6 of his 9 points came in the form of a career-high against Pfeiffer on Nov. 11, 2022 last season. Owens is a three-sport athlete for the Cavaliers, participating with the UVA Wise men's cross country team and the Cavalier track & field program.
Owens hails from Castlewood, Va. and Castlewood High School where he was also a three-sport athlete in the same sports he currently participates in for the Cavs. Owens currently holds 10 separate Virginia State records in the running sports, headlined by the fastest 800m sprint time in Virginia history at a blazing 2-minute 6-second space. His other records place him with some of the best times ever in the 1600m, 3200m, 4x100 relay, 4x400 relay, 4x800 relay (two records), high jump, long jump, and triple jump.
