Biography
Bio
Filip Brkic' will begin his college career in a different country than his native land of Croatia. Brkic' lived in Croatia for most of his life before moving to the United States to play high school basketball at Foxcroft Academy in Foxcroft, Maine. At Foxcroft, Brkic' was a 17 PPG scorer for the Ponies on 43% FG shooting. He also added much more than scoring as he averaged 5.8 RPG, 2.7 APG, and 2.1 SPG in the 2021-22 season. It was at Foxcroft that Brkic' was named First Team All-Conference in 2022. Additionally, Brkic' earned a selection on both the McDonald's All-Star and Conference All-Star teams. After that season, Brkic' moved to Florida and transferred to Florida Coastal Prep for his final high school season.
Brkic' brings high-level international experience to the table for the Cavs, having played on the Croatian U15 National Team in 2018 and 2019. In fact, Brkic' is one of just 15 active NCAA players from Croatia.
Brkic' attributes LeBron James for his love of the game, as he began watching James at a young age and his love of basketball stems from that.
He cited the coaching staff and the facilities as reasons for his commitment to UVA Wise. "The whole environment reminds me of my country a little bit," Brkic' added.
He is a son to his mom, Kristina, and his dad, Damir. Brkic' has two sisters, Ema Lucija and Vita Antonia.
