The University of Virginia's College at Wise Athletics

Evan Ramsey rounds out UVA Wise's 2023 freshman class as the tallest player on UVA Wise's roster, standing at 7-feet tall. He scored over 1,000 career points at Abingdon High School in his hometown. Ramsey has dealt with a few injuries in his basketball career, but UVA Wise is focused on his health and development. In his junior season at Abingdon, Ramsey earned numerous accolades for his accomplishments on the hardwood. He made the VHSL Class 3 All-State Second Team in 2021. He was also named the Mountain 7 District Player of the Year and, as a senior, he earned VHSL All-Region 3D First Team honors. He earned all of these playing in just 65 career games with the varsity squad.

Ramsey chose to join UVA Wise to begin his collegiate basketball career because he liked the aspect of being close to home and he felt very welcomed on his visit.

Academically, Ramsey excels in the classroom too, finishing his high school academic career with 3.9 GPA.

His favorite things to do away from basketball are to light weights and spend time with his close family and friends.

He is the son to his mom, Stephanie Monk, and his dad, Christopher Ramsey.
