Drew Absher is in his first season as an assistant coach at UVa-Wise. Absher played collegiatley at Virginia Military Institute and served as team captain during his senior season. While at VMI, the Keydets won the All-Military Classic and made the Final Four of the CIT in 2014. A four year letterman, VMI averaged over 17 wins per season during his career.
In addition to his playing career, Absher has worked various basketball camps where he has worked with players of all ages and skill levels. At UVa-Wise, the coach will assist with recruiting, scouting, practice, and skill development.
The Mocksville, North Carolina native earned a bachelor's degree in pyschology from VMI in 2014. He currently lives in Wise, Virginia.
