Beaty-Richmond Field at Carl Smith Stadium (Football and Women's Lacrosse)

With an initial $2 million gift from University of Virginia alumnus Carl Smith, Carl Smith Stadium opened in 1999 with a 49-19 victory by the Cavaliers over West Virginia Tech. Since opening, the stadium has seen several upgrades including the addition of bleachers in 2001, the Humphreys-Thomas Field House in 2003, the installation of the Ramseyer Press Box in 2004, and the change to Astroturf GameDay 3D in 2011. The facility saw the addition of lacrosse lines when the program was established in 2015. The surface was updated to a FieldTurf XT Dual Slit Film Turf System for the 2023 season. The stadium can seat 3,900.

 

David J. Prior Convocation Center (Men's and Women's Basketball and Volleyball)

Completed in 2011, the David J. Prior Convocation Center is named after the late Chancellor David J. Prior. A 78,000 square foot facility can seat 3,000 for sporting events and 3,700 for concerts, conventions, and other activities. Home to the men's and women's basketball teams along with the volleyball team, it is also a prime venue for regional and state high school basketball and volleyball tournaments. The center is available for rental to host athletic contests, concerts, commencements, proms, and after-prom parties, dances, conferences, conventions, trade shows, weddings, receptions, and other events.

 

Jim and Betty Humphreys Tennis Complex (Men's and Women's Tennis)

The Jim and Betty Humphreys Tennis Complex has six tennis courts on three different levels.  The complex has lights, seating for fans and restroom facilities. In 2006, the courts were resurfaced and the complex was given an overall facelift with the courts being painted red. The courts were resurfaced at the complex in fall of 2018.

 

Burchell Stallard Field (Baseball)

Named in honor of former high school coaching legend Burchell Stallard, Stallard Field held its first game on February 20, 2004. UVA Wise celebrated the first game with a 7-3 victory over Bluefield College. The facility has become a favorite to all teams and more importantly the Cavaliers to play on. Stallard Field's grass was replaced with a Field Turf Double Play Natural surface in Spring 2024. Located directly in front of Greear Gymnasium, the facility is surrounded by a walking track with Darden Drive only a long home run away. Field Dimensions: LF: 320 LC: 360 CF: 390 RC: 347 RF: 320.

Cavalier Field (Softball)

In 2005, UVA Wise christened its new softball facility. The field is situated on the ridge diagonally behind Greear Gymnasium on the college's campus. Complete with a press box, the complex features three permanent seating sections, and full dugouts. In 2008 the facility saw the addition of lights to provide the opportunity for night games. The field was updated in 2024 with a Field Turf Triple Threat surface and expansion of the playing area. Field Dimensions: LF: 200 CF: 220 RF: 200.

Humphreys-Thomas Field House

Humphreys-Thomas Field House was constructed in 2004 and houses locker rooms for Football and Women's Lacrosse, an athletic training room, and the primary weight room for all student-athletes. UVA Wise's athletic weight room was updated in Fall 2023. Along with its new look, the weight room received Activ Plus flooring with inlaid logo platforms. New state-of-the-art equipment was installed including Sorinex equipment and accessories, 10 Base Camp racks and Power Block Pro dumbbells. The upgraded weight room serves more than 350 student athletes on campus.
