HARROGATE, TN – Lincoln Memorial made a late run and scored a game winning shot with 11 seconds remaining as they escaped the Tex Turner Arena with the 83-81 South Atlantic Conference victory Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half began with a quick exchange of 3-pointers between Lincoln Memorial's Armon Jarrard and UVA Wise's
Patrick Shelley, setting the stage for a closely contested half. Shelley scored 15 points in the half for the Highland Cavaliers, adding a layup and a 3-pointer to pace the Cavs. Meanwhile, Lincoln Memorial's Emmanuel James provided a spark with a dunk and several rebounds, keeping the score tight. The teams traded the lead for the balance of the half before LMU took a five point lead with 9:37 left. Yoro Diallo helped spark a Cavalier run that tied the game and eventually gave UVA Wise a five point lead. The Railsplitters tied the game up late before
Anderson Cummins secured a narrow lead for UVA Wise with a layup in the final seconds, closing the half with the lead at 46-44 in favor of the Cavs.
- Lincoln Memorial opened up the second half with a run that put them ahead by six with fifteen minutes remaining. The Cavs then exploded for a 9-0run of their own, sparked by Diallo and Cummins, to lead 65-61. However, Lincoln Memorial's Campbell continued to be a key player, hitting a critical 3-pointer at the 1:00 mark to put his team ahead 81-79. Cummins made a pull-up jumper with 38 seconds remaining to tie the game, but Campbell sealed the game with an offensive rebound and layup, giving the Railsplitters the decisive basket with 11 seconds left. UVA Wise had a chance at the buzzer, but were unable to convert the game-tying layup.

Anderson Cummins led all scorers with 22 points. He went 7-8 from the field, 4-5 from behind the arc and a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line.

Patrick Shelley scored 15 points as he went 6-9 from the field and 3-5 from three-point range. He also had five rebounds.

Kam Roberts scored 13 points and had a team-high four assists.

Evan Ramsey had eleven points, going 5-7 from the field, and also pulled down seven rebounds.

UVA Wise will have a quick turnaround as they will travel to face Wingate Friday afternoon at 6 p.m. The game was moved to Friday because of the inclement weather forecast for the weekend.
