SALISBURY, NC – The Highland Cavalier men's basketball team had a rough time in their regular season finale, falling to Catawba 104-54 Saturday afternoon.
They have earned a berth in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament, which takes place next week. The winner of the tournament earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Bradley Dean opened the game with a quick three-pointer, but Catawba then scored eight quick points to take a five point lead. They then slowly pulled away, going out to a 45-16 lead with 3:56 left in the first half. The Cavs cut it to 24 with 1:04 left, but trailed 50-23 at the half.
- The Catawba Indians would continue to pull away in the second half to take the 104-54 win.
- Kris Robinson led Catawba with 32 points and eight rebounds, while Montraivis White added in 14 points. For the game, Catawba shot 51.4 percent from the field, 48.5 percent from three-point range, and out-rebounded the Cavs by a 44-26 margin.

Bradley Dean scored 14 points to lead the team and also had three rebounds.

Calen Lightford and
Patrick Shelley both added in nine points, and Shelley also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
UP NEXT
The Highland Cavaliers will be the fourth seed in the SAC Tournament, which begins on Tuesday. They will face fifth seed Carson-Newman Wednesday at noon at the Rock Hill Sports and Events Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
