WISE – The UVA Wise tennis teams closed out the Fall portion of their schedule as they both fell 4-3 to West Virginia Wesleyan Saturday afternoon.
In women's action,
Melissa Lino Airoldi and Juliana Bastidos Tamaya picked up a win in #3 doubles, but WVWC earned the doubles point.
Kenzy Abdelaal grabbed a win at #1 singles,
Constanca Azinhaga won at #5, while Lucy Cuncliffe got the victory in the sixth flight.
On the men's side,
Miguel De Rueda and
Daniel Gonzalez Garza win at #2 doubles, while
Mustafa Raja and
Mario Viana de la Torre won at the third flight to give the Cavs the doubles point.
In singles,
Yi-Hsuan Chen needed a set tiebreaker and a tiebreaker set to earn the win at #1 singles, while Raja won in straight sets at #5.
The teams will return to action in February.
