GAFFNEY, SC – After trailing by twelve points in the first half, a run by UVA Wise broke open the game midway through the second half as they went on to defeat Limestone 74-60 Wednesday evening.
It is the Cavs' second straight win over Limestone after battling the Saints to a 121-119 triple-overtime win in their last meeting, February 10, 2024, in Wise.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Saints grabbed the early lead and held it until a Lac Cvetkovic' three-pointer made the score 12-10 with 14:28 left in the half. The Saints then went on a 12-0 run and kept the lead near double digits for the balance of the rest of the half. UVA Wise would go on a run over the final four minutes to erase a twelve point LU lead, tying the game at 36-36 on an
Evan Ramsey layup with 41 seconds remaining.
- The teams traded the lead five times over the opening minutes of the second half. A Ramsey layup with 15:39 on the clock sparked a 9-0 Cavalier run. The Saints would cut the UVA Wise lead down to 52-49 with 13:36 left, but the Cavs would make several defensive stops and pull ahead by as much as 21 as they went on to take the 74-60 win.
- Greg McKay led Limestone with 17 points and eight rebounds. Trevon Payton scored 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds.

Evan Ramsey paced the Cavs with his third double-double of the season as he posted 17 points and 14 rebounds.

Anderson Cummins scored 16 points, including a game high three three-pointers.

Bradley Dean chipped in 13 points and five rebounds while leading all players with five assists.

Lav Cvetkovic' added in 12 points, three rebounds, and two assists.
- The Cavs held the advantage in rebounds 44-36, and outshot the Saints 42.6%-36.9%.
UP NEXT
The team will return home for the first time since December 18 when they host Lenoir-Rhyne this Saturday at 4 p.m., weather permitting. The Bears defeated UVA Wise 89-72 in Hickory on Nov. 30 and come into the contest off a 92-81 win at Mars Hill earlier today.
