HARROGATE, Tenn. – The UVA Wise men's tennis team split a pair of South Atlantic Conference matches on the road this weekend, picking up a 4-3 win at Newberry and falling at LMU 7-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Against Newberry, UVA Wise claimed the doubles point with wins at the first and third flights.
- At flight no. 3
Diego Pedrero and
Pierre Djaroueh also claimed a 6-4 victory, while at no. 1,
Yi-Hsuan Chen and
Daniel Gonzalez Garza captured the 6-4 win.

Miguel De Rueda picked up the second match point for the Cavs with his 6-2, 7-5 win at flight three.
- Soon after, Chen captured a 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 win at the first flight to put UVA Wise ahead 3-0.
- The Wolves rallied back to tie the match, picking up wins at the second, fourth, and fifth flights.
- Pedrero sealed the win for the Highland Cavaliers with his 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 win at the sixth flight.
- At LMU, the Railsplitters captured the doubles point following three close games. Chen and Gonzalez Garza picked up the 6-4 first flight win, but the Cavs fell in flights two and three by 6-4 and 7-6 scores.
- De Rueda and Gonzalez Garza lost close matches at flights two and three.

Vanja Vojinovic also had a close match at the fifth flight, falling 4-6, 7-6, 6-3.
