WISE – Strong hitting was the order of the day as UVA Wise gathered 10 hits in game one and visiting Lincoln Memorial University had nine in the second game resulting in a South Atlantic Conference season split for the two teams. The Highland Cavaliers took the first game 5-1 while the Railsplitters captured the 9-0 win in the second contest.

GAME ONE:
- UVA Wise got things going early as
Brie Frazier hit a RBI single up the middle that brought
Adyson Gibson in from second base.
- The Cavs exploded for four runs from five hits in the bottom of the second inning.
Mataya Ausmus got things rolling with a single to left field that scored Abigail Mills.
- Three batters later, Ausmus and
Savannah Johnson scored off a single through the right side by
Kara Long.

Sarah Barrett then scored from third on the next at bat on a ground out by Frazier.
- The Railsplitters picked up their lone run of the game in the fifth inning when Sterre den Duijn drove in Hannah Bogoski with a single through the right side.
- Mills and Gibson each had two hits while six other Wise players picked up a hit apiece.

Bayleigh Allison improved to 5-1 on the season as she gave up one run from seven hits.
GAME TWO:
- The tables were turned in game two as this time the Railsplitters had the hot bats, scoring four runs apiece in the second and fifth innings and a run in the third to claim the 9-0 victory.
- Barrett, Gibson, and Long each had a hit in game two.
- Reese Vivrette led the way for LMU with a run, two hits, and three RBI.
- LMU's Victoria Conley picked up the win, giving up only three hits.
UP NEXT:
- The Highland Cavaliers will start their Spring Break with a trip to Newberry College this Sunday. The first pitch is set for 1:00 pm. They will then play a pair of doubleheaders in Florida and one in South Carolina before returning home on March 16 to host Anderson University for a SAC doubleheader.
