WISE – The UVA Wise women's basketball team will play two games this Thanksgiving week. They host Catawba Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m. and after a break for the holiday will play at Lenoir-Rhyne Saturday at 5 p.m.

Saturday's game was originally scheduled for a 2 p.m. start, but was moved to 5 p.m. to accommodate the football team's appearance in the second round of the NCAA Playoffs, which L-R is hosting that day.

GETTING WISE
- Sable Burnside leads the team in scoring (17.5 points a game) and rebounding (7.3 points a game). She also leads the team in blocks (2.17 bpg) and steals (1.67 spg). She is fourth in the South Atlantic Conference in points per game and fifth in field goal percentage (56.4%). She is also second in blocks per game (behind Coker's Kamari Thompson) and tenth in total rebounds.
- Katlin Burger is averaging 14.3 points and 5.3 rebounds a game. She currently has 987 points in her career.
- A pair of freshmen are also having a large impact thus far this season as Ella Karst is second in steals (1.5 spg), third in scoring (9.3 ppg), tied for second in assists with Macie Ridge (2.33 apg) and is fourth in rebounding (3.7 rpg). Caroline Mullins leads the team in assists (2.5 apg), and has 7.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.17 steals a game.
- As a team the Cavs are outshooting the competition 47.8%-36.2% and outscoring them 74.7-72.3 points per game. They are also outrebounding opponents 40.0-38.3 rebounds per game.

ABOUT CATAWBA
- Catawba is currently 3-2 on the season and 1-1 in SAC play. They fell to 24^th-ranked Columbus State in the season opener, won three straight including a 63-62 win at Anderson, and then fell 92-80 at #9 Carson-Newman Saturday afternoon.
- They are second in the SAC in scoring (71.5 ppg) while also being third in points per game allowed with 77.0. They also lead the conference in three-pointers attempted a game (22.5) and are second in rebounds per game (34.5).
- The duo of Janiya Foskey (10.8 ppg) and Bailee Goodlett (10.6 ppg) lead the team in scoring, while Nala Baker and Saniya Wilson each have 9.0 points a game. Goodlett leads the SAC in three-point percentage (62.5%).
- Foskey leads the Catawba Indians in rebounding with 6.6 rebounds a game. Kairah Dixon-Booker has 6.4 rebounds a game.
- Wilson averages 3.6 assists a game to lead the team, while Natalie Fuertes Lara is averaging 1.2 blocks a game.

ABOUT LENOIR-RHYNE
- The Bears are 2-3 overall and 1-2 in SAC play. Their SAC losses are at Carson-Newman and at Newberry while they picked up their first SAC win of the season at Emory & Henry Saturday afternoon. They host Wingate Tuesday evening before the Highland Cavs come to town Saturday.
- They are close in scoring with their opponents overall, having a -0.8 differential in scoring margin (65.8 by opponents to 65.0 by L-R). Opponents are also owning the boards by a 44.6 rpg-30.8 rpg margin.
- Alexandra Merceron leads the team in scoring with 14.2 points a game, while Blaikley Crooks has 10.2 points per game.
- Merceron (5.2) and Crooks (5.0) are also the leaders in rebounding for the Bears.
