WISE – The UVA Wise men's basketball team will continue their challenging early season pre-conference schedule when they travel to Dahlonega, Georgia, to face ninth-ranked North Georgia Saturday afternoon. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m.
The Highland Cavaliers are currently 1-1 following their 87-82 loss to Lees-McRae and 81-71 win over King this past weekend.
GETTING WISE

Bradley Dean leads the team in scoring as he is averaging 17.0 points a game. He also leads the team in assists with 10.

Evan Ramsey is second on the team with 15.5 ppg and leads in rebounding with 10.5 rebounds a game.
- Overall, five UVA Wise players are averaging double-digit scoring –
Anderson Cummins (14.0 ppg),
Patrick Shelley (13.0 ppg), and
Lav Cvetkovic' (10.0 ppg).
- The Cavs are averaging 81.5 points per game, compared to 79.0 ppg by the opposition. They are also narrowly out-shooting opponents 41.5%-41.2%.
- North Georgia won the only other meeting in the series, a 78-68 win over the Cavs in Wise on Nov. 18, 2023.
ABOUNT UNG
- The Nighthawks are 4-0 on the season, but narrowly escaped Young Harris with the 84-81 win Saturday. They host Tusculum tonight.
- They are led in scoring by reigning Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week Cayden Charles, who is averaging 22.3 points and 6.5 rebounds a game. The junior is shooting a blistering 61.4 percent from the field this season.
- Zack Hawkinson leads the Nighthawks in rebounds as he is grabbing 9.3 a game.
- UNG is out-shooting opponents 49.1%-40.6%, out-rebounding them by 37.0 rpg – 32.5 rpg, and outscoring them 78.75 ppg – 70.50 ppg.

The Highland Cavaliers will open South Atlantic Conference play next Wednesday, Nov. 20, when they travel to Emory & Henry for a 7:30 p.m. tip. They will play their home opener for the 2024-25 season on Nov. 23 when they host Coker at 4 p.m. on the Quillen Court.
