 Fifth-year Caitlyn Ross can make history Saturday. The guard enters the game 13 points shy of the NCAA Division II era program scoring record of 1,557 points. Last time out, Ross became just the third player in South Atlantic Conference history and the 17th in NCAA Division II history to eclipse 750 assists.
• Saturday's game is pivotal in terms of the league standings. Coker enters the contest No. 7 in the standings while UVA Wise is No. 9. The top eight teams will qualify for the conference tournament in March.
• The Cavaliers are coming off their worst rebounding performance of the season. UVA Wise lost the battle of the boards 53-to-36 against Carson-Newman. On the season, Jamie Cluesman's team is second in the league in rebounding margin at +6.6.
• Two Cavs had memorable nights against the Eagles. Hailey Williams and Alicea Farmer scored their first collegiate points in the contest.
• Having already won 10 games this winter, Coker needs just three more wins to reach the most wins in program history since joining the SAC in 2013.
• The Cobras are the SAC's best offensive-rebounding team at 16.2 per game. The extra chances has allowed Coker to have a parade to the charity stripe. Melissa DeVore's squad leads the conference at 21.6 free throw attempts per game.
• Coker forward Kamari Thompson leads NCAA Division II in offensive rebounding at 5.2 per game. The 6-foot freshman has already registered seven double-doubles this season, ranking second in the league.
• Dasia Lambert has been one of the top defensive players in the conference. The senior is averaging 2.93 steals per game to lead the SAC and rank No. 19 in NCAA Division II.
• UVA Wise is 2-2 all-time at the "Snake Farm", the Cavs did win the last meeting 82-75 on Nov. 30, 2022.
