• Behind career-best performances from Sable Burnside and Leah Kestner UVA Wise halted a three-game losing skid with an 83-74 win over Anderson Saturday. Burnside scored a career-high 28 points on a career-best 13 made field goals while Kestner corralled a career-high 14 rebounds and handed out the most assists in her career, six.
• Wednesday's game at Carson-Newman will pit two of the more accomplished players in NCAA Division II. The Eagles' Braelyn Wykle leads all active players with 2,394 points while the Cavaliers' Caitlyn Ross is the active leader in assists with 749.
• Ross scored 14 points and dished out eight assists in the win over Anderson to move closer to history. The fifth-year guard has tallied 1,531 points in her career to sit 26 points shy of the NCAA Division II era program record while her 749 assists are 70 shy of tying the all-time SAC record.
• Junior forward Katlin Burger produced her second double-double of the season with 15 points and 12 rebounds against Anderson.
• The Eagles are undefeated at home this season at 8-0 and are posting an average margin of victory of 22 points per game.
• Wednesday's game pits two of the best passing teams in NCAA Division II hoops. UVA Wise leads the league and ranks No. 6 nationally at 18.2 assists per game while CN dishes out 18 assists per game to rank No. 7 nationally.
• CN forward Lindsey Taylor has scored in double figures in four consecutive games and enters the game against UVA Wise with 997 points as an Eagle.
• Wednesday's game will be the second regular season game of the year for UVA Wise in the Volunteer State. Jamie Cluesman's team has eight women on this year's roster who hail from the state of Tennessee.
