SALISBURY, N.C./HARROGATE, TENN. — The UVA Wise men's tennis team couldn't seal the deal in conference action this weekend, falling to Catawba by a score of 6-1 and Coker by a score of 5-2.
Catawba secured their second SAC win of the season after taking five-of-six singles matchups and taking the overall doubles win.
In doubles, Vanja Vojinovic and Pierre Djaroueh swiped a triumph in the No. 2 spot by a score of 6-4 — but the Indians took over in the No. 1 and No. 2 spot to secure the doubles point.
In singles play, Dominik Thuri-Nagy was the only Cavalier to snag a win in the No. 1 spot. Miguel De Rueda forced a third set in the No. 2 spot, but couldn't hold off Tyler Jergens of the Indians.
Against Coker, Thuri-Nagy and De Rueda paced the Cavaliers in singles play with wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 spot, respectively.
The Cobras would come out victorious in all doubles matchups, winning 6-0, 6-2, and 6-3.
Up next, UVA Wise will face Mars Hill in a rescheduled match on Wednesday, March 22 at 4 PM.
