UVA Wise NEWS & NOTES
- UVA Wise come into Saturday's matchup after defeating the Tusculum Pioneers for the first time in over 22 years. The last time the UVA Wise men's basketball program beat Tusculum was on Dec. 4, 2000 where the Cavs won by nine, 102-93.
-Lawson led the Cavaliers with 30 points featuring a 9-14 showing from the field and a 4-6 showing from the arc. Lawson also added a career-high matching five blocks.
-Dean added a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds in the triumph, while Kervens Yacinthe sank a career-high three three-pointers.
- UVA Wise sits in second place in the Mountain Division of the SAC with a 7-7 (.500) record, and a win against Wingate would place them a win ahead of Tusculum and Limestone who are tied in third (6-7)
