NOTES TO KNOW
• UVA Wise has out rebounded each of its first seven opponents and enters Saturday's game +12.2 in rebounding margin. The number ranks ninth in NCAA Division II.
• Fifth-year Caitlyn Ross continues to climb up the career leaderboards at UVA Wise. Ross has 1,367 points just 10 points shy of current assistant coach Kalee Johnson for 11th on the school's all-time scoring list. Ross' 681assists are the most in school history and are the third most in SAC history.
• Junior Sable Burnside is coming off a career-night with 14 points, five rebounds and four assists.
• Sophomore Allyson Fleenor poured in 11 points and eight rebounds over 13 minutes of action against Concord. The 11 points were a new career-high for the forward.
• UVA Wise made a season-high 31 foul shots in its 84-81 win over Concord. On the season, the Cavs are making 17.3 free throws per contest which ranks 14th in NCAA Division II.
• Newberry's April Rummery-Lamb is averaging 1.9 blocks per game. The number ranks second in the league and has aided the Wolves to a league-best four blocks per contest.
• Newberry has won back-to-back games against UVA Wise but has never won in the Prior Center. All-time the Cavs are 3-0 against the Wolves at home with an average margin of victory of 10.7 points per contest.
•Playing away from home has been an issue for Newberry, the Wolves are 6-35 over the program's last 41 away games dating back to the start of the 2020-21 campaign. The number includes an 0-14 mark away from Eleazer Arena last winter.
