Storylines – Mars Hill
After starting the year 2-1, Mars Hill has fallen on hard times as of late. The Lions enter Wednesday's game having lost six in a row and are 3-9 overall. In the six-game losing streak, teams have scored at least 80 points four times as first-year Head Coach Emry Tsitouris' team is allowing a league-worst 44.5 percent field goal shooting by opponents. Graduate student Jo Snow has been a bright spot for the Lions. Snow is averaging 2.5 made 3-pointers per game to rank third in the league. The guard is making 37.4 percent of her long-range attempts while scoring a team-high 16.9 points per game. Snow is one of three Mars Hill players averaging double-figures as Janette Hanni is scoring 14.2 points per game and Maddie Gillie is chipping in 12.9 points per contest.

Katlin Burger scored over 25 points for the second consecutive game with 26 points in the team's 73-68 win over Limestone Monday. Burger is the first Cavalier to score at least 20 points in consecutive games since Vanzant netted 27 points and 22 points in back-to-back home games against Mars Hill and Tusculum in 2021. UVA Wise has controlled the paint in each of the last two wins. After scoring 42 points in the paint in a 69-58 win at Bluefield State Saturday, the Cavs scored 50 points in the paint in the win over Limestone. Ross was pivotal in her team's 67-56 win at Mars Hill last winter as she scored 10 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out seven assists while playing all 40 minutes in the win.
