LEXINGTON, Ky. - - The women's golf team at UVA Wise began the fall season with an 11th-place finish at the Transylvania Fall Invitational this weekend. Texas at Dallas won the event with a team tally of 896 behind medalist Karen Lee and runner-up Karen Alvarez.

Olivia Baker and Sarah Arnold tied for 45th place to be the top Cavaliers in the field as each woman shot a 264. Baker shot an 88 in the opening round before posting scores of 88 and 89. Arnold had the lowest round score of any UVA Wise golfer in the event with an 82 in the opening round to aid her effort.

Erin Musick placed 48th thanks to an 85 in round two en route to a three-round tally of 265. Meanwhile, Savanah Burdsall came in 60th place with a score of 280 and Haley Howard tied for 63rd with a score of 288.

Next up, the team will compete at the Pipestem Invitational in Pipestem, W.Va. beginning Sept. 28.
