Jonathon Barbaree's Anderson Trojans come to UVA Wise on a five-game winning streak behind the play of the South Atlantic Conference's leading scorer Shameka McNeill. The graduate student is averaging 22.9 points per game and has netted at least 20 points in 11 consecutive contests. As has traditionally been the case with Anderson, the Trojans rely heavily on their defense to post victories. Entering Saturday, Anderson is holding opponents to a league-low 36.7 percent shooting from the field. When teams miss, the Trojans are quick to clean the glass; to date, the club's 956 rebounds are the most in NCAA Division II. Over the team's current five-game winning streak, Anderson is winning by an average of 18 points per game.

Off back-to-back wins, UVA Wise will attempt to knock off Anderson for the first time in program history when the Trojans visit the Prior Center Saturday. Last time out, redshirt senior Kalee Johnso erupted for 26 points and eight rebounds while fellow senior Meg Crawford netted 12 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked six shots in a 67-56 win at Mars Hill. Freshman Katlin Burger continues to see an increased role as the season progresses. Burger scored a season-high 13 points at Mars Hill and is averaging 11 points per game while having made 7-of-15 field goal attempts over the last two contests. Junior guard Caitlyn Ross seems to be returning to form from her sophomore season. Ross is averaging 10 points, five assists and 7.6 rebounds per game over her last three outings.  To beat Anderson, UVA Wise will have to fare well on the boards. In the first meeting the Trojans won the battle of the boards 54-to-34.
