Storylines – vs Tusculum
Once seemingly out of contention for the South Atlantic Conference Tournament, Tusculum has reeled off five consecutive wins to forge a three-way tie for sixth place in the league standings with Newberry and UVA Wise. Meagan Price's team has turned up the defense during the winning streak. Over the stretch, no opponent has scored more than 52 points against the Pioneers. Last time out, Coker shot just 35.1 percent from the floor and turned the ball over 24 times as Tusculum scored a 64-49 triumph on Saturday. On the season, the Pioneers are led by graduate student Jalia Arnwine who is averaging 13.8 points per game. Arnwine makes up part of a veteran trio that has led the Pioneers resurgence. Brianna Dixon has played just 16 games this season but the senior averages 14.2 points per game while fellow senior Mya Belton nets 12.5 points per game.  
About UVA Wise
UVA Wise enters the last week of the season needing at least one to secure a berth to next week's SAC Tournament.  While controlling its own destiny, the Cavs will have to face a Pioneers club that has won five consecutive games before facing a nationally ranked Catawba squad to close out the regular season. As the season has progressed, Jamie Cluesman's team has played more like most expected when the season began. UVA Wise has won three of its last four games and has become the conference's best free throw shooting team. Redshirt senior Kalee Johnson is shooting 89 percent from the free throw line this winter to lead a unit that is shooting 76.7 percent from the foul line. In Saturday's loss at Wingate, a pair of Cavs reached career milestones as Johnson entered the top 10 all-time in scoring with 1,343 points while junior Caitlyn Ross became the third player in program history to reach 400 career assists.
