PREVIEW: CAVALIERS HEAD TO HARTSVILLE FOR COKER MATCHUP

TIP-OFF TIDBITS
Coker enters Saturday's matchup having won 6-5 overall. The Cobras are 1-2 in South Atlantic Conference play having defeated Catawba on Thursday night in a tight 80-77 score. In the victory, guard Marvin Brumfield led his squad with 22 points while teammates Jordan Jones and Tate Mulkey also added their own pairs of double-digits with 13 and 14 points, respectively. Just the week prior, the Cobras had lost to the Indians in similar three-point fashion on December 7.

As a team, Coker sits at the bottom of the South Atlantic Conference in rebounds with 28.7. Offensively, the team puts up a 41.4 field goal percentage.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Demar Anderson:
The sophomore guard leads Coker in scoring with 16 points per game (but did not play against Catawba on December 14). Ranks seventh in the league in points per game.

Jordan Jones The junior guard for Coker leads his team rebounds per game with 4.3 and ranks behind Anderson on the Cobras in points per game with 14.7

UVA WISE NEWS & NOTES
UVA Wise broke through their three-game losing curse as they pushed through a 13-point deficit in the  second half to claim a victory against Limestone in overtime on December 15. Leading the way for the Cavaliers was Bradley Dean, erupting for a career-high 40 points while adding six rebounds and two assists. His groundbreaking career night claimed his spot in first in the conference in points per game (20.1). Additionally, the sharp-shooting Cavaliers stay in the top 10 of NCAA Division II in three-point field goal percentage with a 43.5.

DID YOU KNOW?
This will be the Cavaliers' seventh meeting with the Cobras, and Coker leads the all-time series 4-2. In their last matchup, UVA Wise sneaked out a win by a score of 73-72 in the Prior Center on February 7, 2022. Bradley Dean led the Cavaliers with 29 points that night, dropping eight field goals and three three-pointers to throttle UVA Wise through the triumph.
