Cavalier Men Travel to Anderson Saturday

Storylines – vs ANDERSON UNIVERSITY
With just seven games under their belt this season, the Trojans of Anderson look to re-enter the win column after a 95-59 setback on the road at Carson-Newman University Wednesday evening. Head coach Jeff Brookman's squad currently holds a 2-5 overall and South Atlantic Conference record with the team's pair of wins against Limestone, 103-74, and Coker, 67-63. So far this season, the Trojans are averaging 70 points per game and shooting right under 40 percent from the floor. Sophomore Crosby James II (11.6 ppg) and senior Josh Livingston (11.1 ppg) lead the scoring effort for Anderson while Livingston's 55.8 field goal percentage ranks seventh in the SAC. Livingston also ranks second in the league with his 52 percent shooting from three-point range. Anderson is posting 33.3 rebounds per game and dishing out 12 assists per contest. Livingston also leads the team on the boards with five per game while senior Quin Nottingham is tallying a team-best three assists per contest.

Junior Kaeleb Carter's career night helped propel UVA Wise to its second consecutive win of the season, topping Catawba, 85-73, inside the David J. Prior Convocation Center Wednesday night. Carter netted a career-high 25 points on a career-best nine made field goals and tied his career-high six three-pointers. Freshman Bradley Dean played his best game of the campaign as he recorded a season-high 15 points on a season-high five field goals. The guard knocked down three shots from behind the arc and added two steals and four rebounds. Redshirt junior Briggs Parris also scored in double-figures with 13 points and added a team-best three steals while junior Cameron Whiteside had a team-high six rebounds. Whiteside remains among the league's leading scorer with his 20.7 ppg while his 6.9 rebounds per contest rank fifth in the conference. Parris' 92.3 percent shooting at the foul line place him second among league leaders in the category. As a team, UVA Wise's 76.8 ppg rank fifth in the SAC. The Cavs rank in the top-five in the league in several categories so far this year including three-pointers per game (9.1), free throw percentage (76.1) and assists per game (16.8).
