ABOUT UVA WISE
Head Coach Blake Mellinger and the Cavs are looking to shake off a six-game losing streak and secure their first win against the Newberry Wolves on Wednesday, Dec. 1. On Saturday, UVA Wise kept the Tusculum Pioneers under their control and lead until late in the second half when the Pioneers snuck out a 4-point win at the four-second mark due to a Cavalier foul and a turnover. The Cavaliers immensely improved their charity stripe buckets, going from 9-19 in the Mars Hill matchup to 16-23 in the Tusculum matchup. Sophomore Ben Bryson was able to revitalize the Cavs against the Pioneers, snagging nine points, seven rebounds, and six assists in his season debut.Â
