Cavaliers Face No. 12/15 Queens (N.C.) Saturday Afternoon

Storylines – vs Queens University of Charlotte
In his eighth year at the helm, head coach Bart Lundy and the Royals will look to extend their win streak Saturday afternoon as the team comes to Wise with a 7-2 overall mark and 6-1 South Atlantic Conference record. The No. 12/15 Royals began the season with a 14-point victory over NCAA Division I opponent Howard University back in November. Queens has won six of its last seven contests and have not been defeated since the team's 80-71 home loss to Wingate in December. The Royals are coming off of a one-point road win at Carson-Newman, 63-62, Wednesday evening. Coach Lundy's team currently ranks seventh in the SAC in points per game (76.7) and is shooting 48.8 percent from the floor (2nd in the SAC). Queens leads the league in three-point percentage, shooting 40.5 percent from behind the arc. The Royals 39.6 boards per game rank second in the conference while averaging nearly nine more rebounds a game than opponents. Five Royals are averaging double-digit points for Queens this season led by junior guard Kenny Dye's 13.3 ppg. Forward Gavin Raines' nine rebounds per game place him second in the league in the category.

Whiteside has scored in double-figures for 33 consecutive games since last season as his 27.5 points per game this year rank him third in the nation in scoring. Fellow juniors Kaeleb Carter and Briggs Parris are also averaging double-digit points to start the campaign. Parris is recording 11 ppg and Carter is averaging 10.3 ppg while both are perfect from the charity stripe so far this season.
