WISE, Va. – Men's tennis dropped their second South Atlantic Conference match 7-0 against No. 4 Wingate University Wednesday night.
In doubles, UVA Wise (3-6) fell at all three positions as Wingate (5-2) secured the point for a 1-0 advantage.
In singles action, freshman Cleve Packer was swept 6-0,6-0 at the No. 1 position, while junior Coleton Burke fell at No. 2 6-2, 6-0. At the No. 3 spot, freshman Connor Giza was defeated 6-0,6-0, while sophomore Luke Jarnagin fell 8-2. Freshman John Robert Kilgore dropped his match 6-0,6-0 and John Hamilton was topped 8-0 in the No. 6 spot.
Wingate is the highest ranked opponent UVA Wise has faced this season.
UVA Wise will be back in action Saturday, March 14th in Hartsville, South Carolina to take on Coker University. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
