HARTSVILLE, S.C. - - UVA Wise saw its women's basketball season come to a close Saturday in a 79-73 loss at Coker. Four Cobras scored in double figures in the win, led by senior Erin Houser who netted 19 points in her final collegiate game.
UVA Wise led 62-60 with just over five minutes to play on a bucket by Ada Stanley. It would be the last time Jamie Cluesman's team would have the lead. Coker answered with an 11-1 scoring spurt to take control of the contest.
The Cavaliers received a game-high 25 points from freshman Nia Vanzant. The guard finished the game 8-of-16 from the field and 3-of-6 from the 3-point line en route the big scoring day. Vanzant finished her freshman season with more than 400 points.
Hanna Oliver (14), Kalee Johnson (11), Ada Stanley (11) and Caitlyn Ross (11) also tallied double figures for UVA Wise in defeat.
