Storylines – vs Coker University
The Cobras of Coker University enter into the final game of the regular season with a 7-18 record, 6-15 in the South Atlantic Conference, and are coming off of a one-point, 77-76, win at Newberry this past Wednesday night. The team is averaging just 68.2 points per game and 32.2 rebounds per game, trailing the league in both categories. From the field, Coker is shooting 42.2 percent while shooting 30 percent from behind the arc. Junior shooting guard Royce Hunter leads the Cobras in scoring, averaging 15.7 points per game. Sophomores Chandler Lindsey and Malcom Kennedy are also averaging double-figures for Coker, posting 13.5 and 12.9 points per contest, respectively. Redshirt sophomore Dakota Jennings sits atop the rebounding category for the Cobras registering 5.6 boards per game. Hunter (5.2) and freshman Williams Onyeodi (5.0) are the only other two Cobras to average at least five rebounds per contest.

Head coach Blake Mellinger's squad fell to Carson-Newman, 91-78, Wednesday night in the team's last game of the season inside the David J. Prior Convocation Center. Sophomores Briggs Parris and Cameron Whiteside led the team with 19 points apiece against the Eagles while senior Chance Sheffey added 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting and a career high four three-pointers in the loss. Whiteside remains the league's leading scorer with his 20.8 points per game while registering a team-high 7.4 rebounds per contest (fifth in the SAC). Parris and Sheffey are the only other two Cavs averaging double-digits points with Parris recording 13.6 per game while Sheffey is posting 10.4 per game. Parris' 2.9 three-pointers per game rank him fourth in the conference while shooting a team-best 39.4 percent from downtown. Sheffey remains the the Cavs leader in assists, dishing out 4.8 per contest (third in the SAC). UVA Wise is averaging 76.5 points per game while shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 74 percent from the charity stripe (fifth in the SAC). The Cavs are notching 36.1 rebounds per game while tallying 14.9 assists per game to rank third in the conference.
