WINGATE, N.C. – Hannah Clark's jumper with eight seconds to play proved to be the game winner as Wingate University would steal the ball on UVA Wise's final possession to win 63-61 in South Atlantic Conference play Saturday at Cuddy Arena.
Wingate (11-4, 4-4 SAC) would outscore UVA Wise (7-7, 3-5 SAC) 21-to-9 in the final quarter of play to erase a 10-point deficit. The Bulldogs took their first lead of the game with 1:40 to play when Destiny Coleman hit a jumper in the paint.
