WISE - - In their next-to-last home match of the season, the Cavaliers were defeated 7-0 by King University Wednesday evening.
The Cavswere swept in doubles play, as the pairs of sophomore Coleton Burke and freshman Luke Jarnagin, and junior Daniel Laughlin and senior Jakub Blach each fell 6-1 at the No. 1 and No. 3 position respectively. Freshman Dominic Hoffman and junior John Hamilton were defeated 6-0 at the No. 2 position.
Jarnagin had the most success for UVa-Wise in the loss with a 6-2, 6-0 defeat at the No. 3 singles position. Laughlin was the only other Cavalier to win a game on Wednesday as he fell 8-1 at the No. 5 position. Burke and Hoffman were each defeated 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions respectively, while Hamilton and Blach lost 8-0 at the No. 4 and No. 6 positions respectively.
The Cavaliers will return to action on Saturday for their final home match of the season when the host Salem University at noon.
