Storylines – vs. Alice Lloyd College
In his first season overseeing the men's basketball program, head coach Scott Cornett's Eagles will visit Wise Friday night with a 4-3 overall record, including two forfeitures and wins over Miami-Hamilton, 89-50, and Kentucky Christian, 98-91. This is the first road game the Eagles have played since the team's two-point loss to Bethel (Tenn.), 83-81, earlier in November. Last season, Coach Cornett's team finished with a 13-18 overall mark and were 6-12 in the River States Conference under former head coach JR Hammond. Junior guard Blake Smith led the Eagles last year averaging 20.9 points on 51.6 percent shooting from the floor and posted a team-best three-point percentage at 35.4 percent. Senior forward Simon Christon averaged a team-high 8.13 rebounds per game, totaling 252 rebounds last season for Alice Lloyd. Through five games played, the Eagles are averaging 84.8 points while opponents are averaging 82 points per game. Alice Lloyd is shooting 46.4 percent from the field to start while averaging 11.8 turnovers per game. Smith leads his team in scoring once again this season recording 24.6 points per game on 46 percent shooting from the floor. Coach Cornett's team will stay on the road for two more games as the team returns to action Saturday afternoon against Boyce.

Yesid Mosquera-Perea notched a career-high nine rebounds in the Monday night victory. UVa-Wise escaped the Eagles last season in a 79-73 win inside the Prior Center as the Cavs struggled from the floor, shooting 37 percent (27-for-73) from the field, just 26.7 percent (8-for-30) from behind the arc. This campaign, Whiteside and Parris lead the Cavs in scoring averaging 15.8 points and 15.5 points per game, respectively. Sophomore
