About uva-wise

At the .500 mark in league play, UVa-Wise has all but guaranteed itself a berth in the upcoming MEC Tournament. UVa-Wise junior Cynita Webb has recorded a double-double in consecutive games while having posted 10 double-doubles on the season. The forward's 13.8 points and 10.9 rebounds per game allow her to be one of four players in the MEC to average a double-double. Recently, redshirt sophomore Kalee Johnson has been playing the best basketball of her collegiate career. Johnson has scored in double figures in three consecutive games; the forward registered a new career-high with 17 points at Concord Saturday. Depth has been a big reason why the Cavaliers have defied preseason prognostications. Picked last in the Preseason MEC Coaches' Poll, first-year Head Coach Jamie Cluesman has had seven different players score 10 or more points at least once this season. Overall, UVa-Wise has six players averaging five or more points per game while 11 players see at least 10 minutes of action per game played.
