The University of Charleston hosts UVa-Wise after going 1-1 last week on the road earning a decisive 78-65 win over Fairmont State but falling just two days later, 75-59, to Shepherd University. The Golden Eagles will attempt to score a victory against the Cavaliers to move up the ranks as Charleston sits just behind UVa-Wise in the Mountain East Conference standings. Senior Keir Anderson leads the pack in scoring with the guard averaging 16.3 points per game and shooting 53 percent from the field. Freshman Lamont McManus sits at the top in rebounding for the Golden Eagles, grabbing 5.6 boards per game. Leading in steals and assists for Charleston is junior Ke'Andre Gibson who is recording 1.1 steals and 2.2 assists per contest. Dwaine Osborne's team has outscored opponents so far this season by a +3.6 margin, posting 80 points on average. The Golden Eagles are shooting 47 percent from the floor and collecting 38.2 rebounds per game, outrebounding opponents by a +3.7 margin. Charleston will remain home for its final game taking on West Virginia State on Saturday with tip-off slated for 4 p.m.

Looking to extend a five-game win streak, UVa-Wise will attempt to earn an important victory over Charleston and go 1-1 on the season with the Golden Eagles. UVa-Wise was outlasted by Charleston in their last meeting with the Golden Eagles earning a 78-75 win inside the David J. Prior Convocation Center. Going 2-0 this past week, the Cavaliers picked up a pair of important victories at home over Urbana and Notre Dame. The Cavs downed the Falcons of Notre Dame 94-84 last Saturday after being down 42-37 at halftime. Blake Mellinger's team returned to the court in the second half shooting 53.3 percent from the field with redshirt senior Taiwo Badmus notching his third 30-point performance in four games as he helped seal the win for the Cavs. The forward netted 31 points shooting 53 percent from the field and grabbed 14 boards. Badmus also added four assists, three blocks, and two steals in the win. The Cavs finished the game shooting 47 percent from the floor and outrebounding the Falcons 41-34. UVa-Wise will have its regular season finale on Saturday as the teams visits Concord University with game time scheduled for 4 p.m.
