Storylines – vs.  Notre Dame College
In his sixth season with Notre Dame College, Tim Koenig's Falcons will continue their road trip as they come to the David J. Prior Convocation Center with a 3-1 record. Notre Dame opened up their conference slate with an 80-69 win over the Concord Mountain Lions Saturday afternoon. The Falcons wrapped up their 2017-18 campaign with a 6-22 record and a 4-18 mark in Mountain East Conference play. Â After redshirting most of last season due to injury, Koenig's squad will be assisted by the return of redshirt senior forward Will Vorhees who averaged 24.3 points per game through three games last year. Notre Dame will also return redshirt junior guard Drew Scarberry, who netted 14.3 ppg last year, sophomore guard Halil Parks, and redshirt senior forward Angelo Cugini. Cugini led the team last season in rebounding with 8.1 per game and was one of the top scorers for the Falcons, posting 11.3 ppg. So far this season, Vorhees leads his team in scoring and rebounding with 22.3 ppg and 11.3 rpg while shooting over 40 percent from three-point range. As a team, Notre Dame is averaging 74.3 points through their first four games and shooting 43 percent from the floor. The Falcons were tabbed fourth in this year's MEC preseason poll.Â

Jordan Pointer also had a big night as he posted a season-high 12 points (6-for-8 from the field) with seven rebounds and four blocks. Freshman guard
Briggs Parris registered double-figures with 12 points along with four rebounds and three steals. UVa-Wise shot 56.3% from the floor with 40 rebounds and 15 steals. In the Cavs last two meetings with Notre Dame College, UVa-Wise earned a pair of wins which included a double-overtime thriller to start league play before a double-digit defeat of the Falcons at home.
