No. 4 Lincoln Memorial Defeats UVa-Wise, 106-75

HARROGATE, Tenn. - - Lincoln Memorial improved to 5-0 on the season behind senior forward Dorian Pinson's 20 points and 12 rebounds. Pinson went 7-for-12 from the field and 3-for-4 from beyond the arc to help the No. 4 Railsplitters earn a 106-75 win over the Cavaliers.

UVa-Wise (3-4, 2-0 MEC) played a solid first half with a jumper by sophomore point guard Michal Seals giving the Cavs an eight point advantage over the Railsplitters, 28-20, at the 10:19 mark. The Railsplitters chipped away at the Cavs lead to take a 37-32 advantage with a little over four minutes on the clock. LMU would maintain the lead going into the half up 44-38 over the Cavs.

The Cavaliers hit 14-of-29 shots (48.3 percent) in the first half, going 4-for-9 (44.4 percent) from the three-point line. Senior forward Taiwo Badmus had an impressive night of shooting scoring 21 of the Cavaliers 38 points in the opening half.

LMU outscored the Cavs in the paint 24-16 and were assisted with eight points from the bench. The Railsplitters went 16-for-30 (53.3 percent) from the field with Pinson recording 10 points and senior forward Emanuel Terry registering 12 points off of 3-for-4 shooting and going 6-for-7 from the line.

Coming out of the half, the Cavaliers stayed within reach of the Railsplitters, with UVa-Wise taking its last lead of the night, 45-44, with 18:37 left on the clock. LMU's Pinson and Terry would score 10 points apiece as the Railsplitters ran away with the game with a final score of 106-75. LMU went 22-for-34 (64.7 percent) from the floor in the second half and posted 25 rebounds to the Cavaliers eight.

Badmus added 11 more points in the second half to close out the night with a season-high 32 points, going 10-for-15 from the floor, 5-for-8 from downtown, and posted nine rebounds. Seals finished with 17 points while sophomore forward Tajh Eason and guard Chance Sheffey had six points apiece.

UVa-Wise went 27-for-61 (44.3 percent) from the field while the Railsplitters shot 38-for-64 (59.4 percent). LMU's Terry led the Railsplitters in scoring with 22 points while Trevon Shaw added 15 points in the win.

Next up, men's basketball will travel to Institute, W. Va. to take on West Virginia State University on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 7:30 p.m.
