Cavalier Men Set To Play Glenville State In First Round Of MEC Tournament

Storylines – Glenville State Game
Glenville State University is coming off of a 75-49 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan entering the first round of MEC action on Tuesday against UVa-Wise.  In that game, the Pioneers had three players finish in double figures. Glenville was led by  Reggie Williams who finished with a game-high 14 points, four assists and three steals. Donte Morales added 13 points and three steals, while Sedric Nady finished with 10 points. The Pioneers shot 61.7 percent from the floor and 42.9 percent from beyond the arc against the Bobcats.  On the season, Morales is scoring 18.4 points per game and pulling down 5.3 rebounds a game to lead Glenville, while Reggie Williams is averaging 14.3  points each per game. The Pioneers are scoring 78.7 points per game, while allowing 76.4 from opponents.

UVa-Wise finished 12th in regular season Mountain East Confernce action, but are looking to start fresh against Glenville State in the first round of play on Tuesday. Most recently, the Cavaliers were defeated 74-59 by Concord University.  UVa-Wise had two players finish in double figures.  Matt Day finished with 22 points, six rebounds and two steals, while Philip Owens II added 19 points and five assists.  On the season, Philip Owens II is averaging 13.8 points per game and 4.3 assists. Matt Day is scoring 12.1 points per game and grabbing 6.4 rebounds per game, while Brian Sydnor is averaging 11.1 points per game and grabbing 7.7 rebounds per game. Overall, the Cavaliers are scoring 65.6 points per game, while allowing 87.3 points from opponents.
