Game Day Central - UVa-Wise vs. Concord

Storylines – Concord University game
Concord University is coming off of a non-conference 83-57 victory over Davis & Elkins College entering Saturday's game against UVa-Wise.  In that game, the Mountain Lions had three players finish in double figures. Concord was led by  Rob Reed who finished with a game-high 19 points. Aaron Miller added 14 points, Paul Byrd finished with 10 points and six assists, while Terry Hopewell added 11 rebounds and four steals. The Mountain Lions shot 42.9 percent from the floor and 46.7 percent from beyond the arc against the Senators.  On the season, Miller is scoring 18.4 points per game and pulling down 3.4 rebounds a game to lead Concord, while Mike Boyd and Rob Reed are averaging 13.3  points each per game. The Mountain Lions are scoring 81.5 points per game, while allowing 75.2 from opponents.

UVa-Wise enters its last contest of the season and the final collegiate regular season game for senior Tyler Maggard. He is a four-year letter winner who has played the best ball of his career during his senior season.  Maggard has started 21 games for the Cavaliers this season and led the team in made 3-pointers with 55 entering Saturday's contest. A native of Dryden, Virginia he had the best game of his career in his final road regular season game Monday at Shepherd.  In that game, Maggard made eight 3-pointers and scored a career-high 24 points.  He is a health and physical education major with a concentration in sport management.
