FAIRMONT, W. Va. – Fairmont State University shot 51.9 percent from the floor en route to a 98-54 victory over UVa-Wise at the Joe Retton Arena on Saturday.

The Fighting Falcons (18-9, 15-6 MEC) were led by senior Nick Harney who finished with a game-high 48 points and seven rebounds. Jamel Morris added 11 points. Fairmont scored 33 points off of turnovers and 23 points off of second chances.

Philip Owens II led the way for the Cavaliers (2-21, 1-19 MEC) with 18 points and four assists. Brian Sydnor finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Fairmont State out-rebounded UVa-Wise 46-31, and limited the Cavaliers to six offensive rebounds.

UVa-Wise will return to action on Monday as the team travels to Shepherdstown, West Virginia to take on Shepherd University.
