Box Score WISE, Va. - UVa-Wise attempt to come back in the second half, but it was not enough in a 75-57 loss to Glenville State Thursday in the Prior Center.
The Cavaliers (1-17, 0-13) shot 41.2 percent from behind the arc and 77.8 percent from the line in the second half in the loss. Brian Sydnor led the way for UVa-Wise with a team-high 16 points, while Philip Owens II finished with 14 points and six assists.
The Pioneers had four players score in double figures. Brett Morris led the way for Glenville State with a game-high 18 points. Sedric Nady added 14 points, while Donte Morales and Juwan Wells both added 10 points. The Pioneers out-rebounded the Cavaliers 47-30, and limited UVa-Wise to seven offensive rebounds.
The Cavaliers will return to action on Saturday at the Prior Center against Urbana.
