BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan used a 20-5 run late in the second half to post a 74-59 victory over the Cavaliers on Saturday.

West Virginia Wesleyan (8-10, 6-6) opened up a 32-15 lead at halftime by limiting UVa-Wise to just six made field goals.  The misses for the Cavaliers allowed Tanner McGrew to nearly record a first half double-double for the Bobcats, he tallied 11 points and nine boards in the first period.

UVa-Wise (1-16, 0-11) would get as close as eight points on two separate occasions but the big Wesleyan run would end any hope the visitors had of victory.

The Bobcats limited second chance opportunities for the Cavaliers as the visitors grabbed only four offensive rebounds. Overall, Wesleyan out-rebounded UVa-Wise 35-23.

McGrew finished with a game-high 21 points and a game-high 18 rebounds. Chris Dewberry added 15 points, while Garrett Grantham finished with 13 points and Taylor Price added 10 points for Wesleyan.
