Box Score ATHENS, W.Va. - - Concord University built a 47-20 halftime lead and limited UVa-Wise to 7-30 shooting from the 3-point line en route to a 92-55 Mountain East Conference win Thursday night.
Concord (11-5, 7-4) placed nine players in the scoring column in the first 20 minutes, led by Rob Reed's eight points. The Mountain Lions dominated the glass in the half, collecting just one fewer offensive rebounds, eight, than the Cavaliers total rebounds. In total, Concord out-rebounded the visitors 26-9 in the period.
UVa-Wise (1-15, 0-11) was unable to get the game back within reach as Concord's defense continued to keep the Cavs off the board.
Reed scored a team-high 13 points to lead a quartet of Mountain Lions in double figures. All 12 players played and scored for Concord.
Brian Sydnor scored a game-high 16 points in the loss. UVa-Wise will be back in action Saturday when the team visits West Virginia Wesleyan for a 4 pm tip.
