WISE - - Emily Lohr scored a game-high 21 points to lead a trio of Fighting Falcons in double figures as Fairmont State posted a 69-56 win over UVa-Wise at the Prior Center on Monday. 

Fairmont State (13-2, 7-2) Shot 59.4 percent from the floor in the opening half as Hailey Garrett scored 14 of her 16 points in the half.  The Falcons forced the Cavaliers into 12 turnovers which resulted in 14 points for the visitors. 

UVa-Wise (5-10, 4-5) outscored Fairmont State 32-27 in the second half but would be unable to get any closer than the final losing margin of 13.

Hallie Gunnoe netted 14 points to round out the double figuring scoring for the Falcons.

Taylor Sandidge led UVa-Wise with 17 points and seven assists while Kayla Carey posted 12 points and Kehanna Grayer tallied 11 in defeat.

The Cavs will be back in action Saturday when the University of Charleston visits the Prior Center for a 2 pm tip.
