Box Score WISE, Va. – The Cavaliers had four players in double figures Monday, but came up just short to fall 75-62 to Fairmont State University at the Prior Center.
Brian Sydnor led the way for UVa-Wise (1-13, 0-9 MEC) with 17 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. Philip Owens II added 13 points, five assists and one steal. Jordan Smith tied his career-high with 12 points and Matt Day added 11 points. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 41.5 percent from the field, and 38.5 percent from beyond the arc.
Jamel Morris led the Fighting Falcons (9-6, 6-3 MEC) with a game-high 27 points and five rebounds. Shammgod Wells finished with 11 points, while Caleb Davis added nine points, five rebounds, two assists and three steals.
The Cavaliers will return to action Saturday against the University of Charleston at the Prior Center.
