Cavalier Women Host Fairmont State on Monday

Storylines – Fairmont State Game
Coach Steve McDonald's Fairmont State squad has three players averaging over 15 points per game, led by Emily Lohr's 16.1 points per game.  Lohr's 16.1 points a night ranks fifth in the Mountain East Conference.  As a team, the Falcons have been getting done on both ends of the floor.  Fairmont State ranks third in the league in scoring offense at 77.1 points per game while ranking second in scoring defense at 62 points a contest.  The Falcons have won six consecutive games entering Monday's game at UVa-Wise, including a 74-55 win at Concord University Saturday afternoon.
About UVa-Wise
UVa-Wise will look to get back over the .500 mark in MEC play on Monday.  The Cavaliers were held scoreless for over a six minute stretch in the second half of Saturday's 71-55 loss to Shepherd University.  In the loss, Kayla Carey scored 15 points in recording her eighth consecutive double digit point performance.  Freshman Allison Ball has provided a boost off the bench in the last two games.  Ball scored nine points in a win at West Virginia State before netting six points on Saturday.  The Newport, Tenn. native has made five 3-pointers in the two games while having made nine triples thus far in her inaugural collegiate campaign.  Surprisingly, UVa-Wise has played better on the road than at the Prior Center this season.  Coach Kristin Kunzman's club has won just one of five home games thus far.
