WISE - - Women's tennis coach Danny Rowland recently announced the signing of Shady Shores, Texas native Marti Gay. Gay played for coach Christopher Brown at Billy Ryan High School where she was a superb student-athlete. The future Cavalier was a member of the National Honors Society and graduated top 10 in her class.

On the tennis court, she excelled in both singles and doubles play. As a freshman she finished third in singles action in her district before finishing second in both singles and doubles play as a sophomore. Her junior season saw her claim USTA Tournament titles and she finished her prep career with more USTA crowns.

She is the daughter of John and Sara Gay and she intends to pursue pre-med once reaching campus this fall.
