FAIRMONT, W.Va. - - UVa-Wise scored its first men's tennis Mountain East Conference win of the spring on Saturday with a 5-4 win over host Fairmont State University.  The Cavaliers swept the doubles matches and had Vlad Akimenko score a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory in first singles action to claim the team win.

Chris Armistead also claimed a singles win with a 6-0, 6-1 win third singles action while UVa-Wise won the doubles matches 8-6, 8-4, and 8-5.

The Cavs will be back in action on Tuesday when the team plays host to West Virginia State in the school's first ever home MEC match.
