Deon Boyce continues his pursuit of the single-season rebounding record at UVa-Wise. The Pittsburgh native has collected 285 rebounds this season to move within 75 of the record set by Robert Spears in the 1993-94 season.
Tyler Maggard came off the bench to drain four 3-pointers and score a team-high 15 points against Wheeling Jesuit on Thursday.
The Cavaliers have lost back-to-back home games for the first time this season. UVa-Wise has not lost three consecutive home games since the final three home games of the 2012-13 season.
West Liberty enters the game the nation's leader in scoring. The Hilltoppers are averaging 108.7 points per game.
West Liberty has won 15 straight road games dating back to last season.
The Hilltoppers have seven players averaging double-figures led by Cedric Harris' 17.4 points per game average.
In the first meeting between the Cavaliers and Hilltoppers, West Liberty made 14 3-pointers and forced 23 UVa-Wise turnovers.
Deon Boyce had one of his best games of the season a month ago against West Liberty. Boyce scored 23 points and grabbed 19 rebounds on 9-14 shooting.
West Liberty had 10 different players score in its win over UVa-Wise in January led by a team-high 22 points from Kelvin Goodwin.
