SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio - - Notre Dame College opened the game on an 11-0 run and never trailed in posting an 85-60 win over UVa-Wise on Monday. The victory was the third consecutive for the Falcons who received a game-high 31 points from Lawrence DeArmond.
UVa-Wise (9-10, 6-9 MEC) was limited to just seven made field goals in the first half as Notre Dame (9-11, 7-7 MEC) hit five first half 3-pointers en route to a 48-26 halftime lead.
The Cavaliers would be unable to get any closer than 20 points in the second half and trailed by as many as 31 points at one point in the final 20 minutes.
Deon Boyce recorded a double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds and teammate Matt Day added 15 points in the loss.
UVa-Wise will return to play on Thursday when Wheeling Jesuit University visits the Prior Center for a 7:30 p.m. tip.
